Current Conditions – Your Personal Bite Index

The heart of AngelStratege. When do fish bite best? The fishing app AngelStratege gives you a well-founded assessment of how favorable the current conditions are for fishing – individually for your fishing spot. Your personal bite index is based on fishing weather data, air pressure trends and your own experiences. Not as a prediction, but as guidance rooted in real data.

The Rating Display

A five-part bar shows you at a glance how the current conditions are assessed. The color indicates the overall trend:

How Is Your Bite Index Created? – Which Factors Are Considered?

The assessment is based on several sources of information:

• Current weather data such as air pressure, wind and cloud cover
• The air pressure trend – rising, falling or stable over the past hours
• The development and stability of the weather situation
• Your personal experiences from past fishing sessions

The more sessions you record in a spot, the more precise the rating becomes. AngelStratege recognizes under which conditions you were successful and weights similar weather conditions accordingly stronger.

The key difference from a generic bite index: AngelStratege does not use general assumptions about what constitutes good fishing weather. Instead, the app compares the current conditions with your actual past experiences at specific spots. If you have caught well at 1015 hPa with light westerly winds at your lake, then similar conditions will be rated positively – regardless of what a generic forecast would say.

This means your bite index is not a one-size-fits-all number, but a personalized assessment that reflects your fishing style, your waters and your target species. With every session you record – whether successful or not – the bite index becomes more accurate and more valuable.

Weather Data in Detail

Below the rating you can see the current weather values for your selected spot:

• Air pressure including trend (rising, falling, stable)
• Wind speed and wind direction
• Cloud cover

This allows you to compare the assessment with your own feeling and experience at any time.

Moon Phase

In addition to the weather data, the current moon phase is also displayed. By tapping on the moon phase symbol, a dialog with further details opens.

The moon phase dialog shows the current moon phase for today – including date, moon symbol and phase name (e.g. "Waxing Moon" or "Full Moon").

By swiping horizontally, you can view the moon phase for past and upcoming days (±30 days). This way you can see at a glance when the next interesting phase – such as full moon or new moon – is approaching.

The Spot Map

A map shows you the currently selected fishing spot. You can see at a glance:

• The area for which the rating applies
• Where your previous sessions took place

This makes it transparent what the assessment refers to.

Switching Spots

Via the spot selection you can quickly switch between your saved fishing spots. Each spot receives its own rating - based on local weather data and your experiences there.

Without a saved spot, AngelStratege automatically uses your current location.

Rating Timeliness

The timestamp shows you when the conditions were last determined. This way you always know how current the assessment is.
