Record Catches Fishing – Your Digital Catch Log

Every catch tells a story. With the AngelStratege catch documentation app you document not only what you caught – but also under which conditions. Your digital catch log for fishing links every catch with weather data, air pressure and your fishing spot. Save each catch with weather information for comprehensive analysis.

Your catches and bites flow together with the weather data of each session into the analysis. AngelStratege identifies under which conditions you were successful at your spots – and evaluates future fishing conditions on this basis.

For each catch you can save the following information:

Bites Without Catch

Not every bite leads to a catch - but every bite is valuable information! A bite shows you that the fish are active and responding to your bait.

For bites you record:

Why record bites? Bites indicate activity - even when no fish is hooked. They are an important signal for fish behavior and are included in the assessment. A fishing session without bites is considered less successful, but still provides a relevant basis for comparison.

Fish Species

Depending on the country and water, we fish for very different species. The list of fish species is virtually endless.

AngelStratege initially comes with a small list of predefined fish species. You can expand this list in two ways:

Tip: The autocomplete field shows you matching suggestions as you type. This helps you quickly find the right species and avoid typos or duplicate entries.

Why Every Catch Counts – Evaluate Catches by Weather and Air Pressure

In most fishing apps, a catch is simply a number in a list. In AngelStratege, every catch is a data point that is linked with the weather conditions of that session. This means you not only know that you caught a pike – but also at what air pressure, what wind speed and what cloud cover conditions.

Over time, this reveals clear patterns: perhaps you catch your target fish most reliably when air pressure is between 1010 and 1020 hPa, or only when the wind is calm. These insights are only possible because AngelStratege automatically stores the complete weather data alongside every catch.

And equally important: bites without a landed fish are also valuable data. They show that the fish were active – and thus contribute to a more accurate bite index for your spots. The more consistently you document your catches and bites, the more precise the fishing app's analysis of your fishing success becomes.
