Manage & Group Your Baits – Your Bait Analysis

With bait groups you organise related baits into your own categories. That makes your evaluations more meaningful and shows which baits truly catch fish at your waters. In AngelStratege you can manage your baits, group them, and analyse catch statistics by bait category — a focused bait analysis instead of going through every single bait.

The Problem

You fish for pike and over time you have used different baits: various soft plastics in several sizes and colours, crankbaits, spinners, spoons. In your catch list they all appear as separate entries.

If you now want to know "How successful am I with soft plastics overall?", you would have to evaluate every single soft-bait entry separately and add them up.

The Solution: Bait Groups

Create a group "Soft Plastics" and add all soft baits to it. From now on you can:

Examples of Useful Groups

By Bait Type

  • Soft Plastics (Shad, Twister, Creature Baits)
  • Hard Baits (Crankbait, Stickbait, Popper)
  • Metal Baits (Spinner, Spoon, Jig)

By Natural Bait

  • Worms (Nightcrawler, Red Worm, Dendrobena)
  • Maggots & Pinkies
  • Live Baitfish (Roach, Bleak, Smelt)

By Target Fish

  • Carp Baits (Boilies, Pellets, Corn)
  • Predator Baits (Soft, Crankbait, Live Bait)
  • Trout Baits (Spinner, Powerbait, Worm)

Create a Group

  1. Open "Bait Groups" from the menu
  2. Tap "New Bait Group"
  3. Enter a name (e.g. "Soft Plastics")
  4. Add the desired baits
  5. Done!

Use the Group in Evaluations

In the catches list you can switch between "Bait" and "Bait Group". When you select a group, you see all catches with every bait it contains at a glance.

Flexible: A bait can belong to multiple groups. A 12 cm shad can be in "Soft Plastics" and "Predator Baits" at the same time.

Benefits

Focused Evaluation by Bait Group

Bait groups unfold their full strength in the evaluations. If you want to know how successful you are with soft plastics overall, you no longer have to go through every single soft bait. The catch statistics by bait category show all related catches at a glance — broken down by the individual baits inside the group.

Beyond that, you can combine baits with other factors: Which bait catches at which air pressure? Which bait category works at which water? Analysis by bait group makes such patterns visible — and helps you to focus your bait choice on conditions, water, and target fish.
