Success Profile: Your Personal Success Factors per Fishing Spot
How successful are you actually at your fishing spot – and under what conditions? The Success Profile answers exactly that: it shows your average success rate and the specific conditions under which you landed a catch or a bite above your own average. Not a general forecast, but an analysis based purely on your own logged sessions.
You'll find the Success Profile directly in the app's Statistics section – as its own analysis area alongside Activities, Catches, and Weather Analysis.
How is your Success Profile calculated?
The starting point is your average at this spot: the share of your sessions in which you had at least one bite or catch. In the example above it's 83 % – 10 out of 12 sessions were successful.
For every condition under which you fished at this spot – say "Air pressure: High" or "Season: Spring" – AngelStratege calculates separately how high your success rate was in exactly that situation. If it was 89 % under "High", for example, that's 6 percentage points above your average – a sign that this condition is particularly strongly linked to your success at this spot.
Important: the analysis always applies to a single fishing spot. What leads to success at one gravel pit lake can look completely different at a nearby lake or river.
The most important success factors
AngelStratege shows you the three strongest correlations right at the top of the card – with a medal rank (🥇🥈🥉), so you can see at a glance what matters most at your spot. Among the factors evaluated are:
- Air pressure and air pressure trend (rising, falling, stable)
- Air temperature and temperature trend
- Wind speed, wind direction and wind trend
- Cloud cover
- Moon phase
- Time of day and season
- Session length
- Water temperature, water level and water level trend
- Water turbidity
Each factor is broken down into several levels (air pressure, for example, from "Very low" to "Very high", wind direction into the eight compass points) – so the analysis stays concrete enough to actually be actionable.
All success factors in detail
Below the top 3, AngelStratege lists every single condition – not just the strongest ones. For each factor you see the success rate for its best level, compared directly against your average at this spot, plus a star rating as a quick indicator of how reliable the value is, and the number of sessions it's based on.
That way you never lose sight of factors that may not make the podium but can still be relevant for you.
Strongest situations – combined factors
Individual factors only tell half the story – often it's the interplay that really counts. That's why AngelStratege goes a step further in the "Strongest situations" section and evaluates combinations of several conditions together, for example high air pressure combined with the spring season. This way you spot not just single success factors, but entire weather patterns that work especially well at your spot.
Tips & Notes
At the end of your Success Profile, the app shows concrete tips on which additional data would be worth logging – for example "Log water temperature more often" if you've rarely filled in that field so far. Every extra data point makes future analyses more precise.
A separate note makes it transparent when the data basis for a spot is still too small overall for reliable conclusions – instead of giving you a false sense of precision.
As with all personalized analyses in AngelStratege: the more sessions you log, the stronger your Success Profile becomes. With few sessions, the app explicitly marks the profile as preliminary.
Success Profile and Statistics
The Success Profile is part of the Statistics in AngelStratege – there you'll also find analyses of your activities, catches, your spot map, spot comparisons, and a separate weather analysis.
Frequently asked questions about the Success Profile
What is the Success Profile in AngelStratege?
The Success Profile is a personalized analysis for each fishing spot: it shows your average success rate (sessions with a catch or a bite) and the individual conditions – such as air pressure, season, or moon phase – under which you were successful above your own average. Everything is based exclusively on your own logged sessions, not on general weather models.
How many sessions do I need for a meaningful Success Profile?
There is no fixed minimum, but the app explicitly labels profiles built from only a few sessions as preliminary. The more sessions you log at a spot, the more reliable the patterns become – with very little data, AngelStratege instead shows a note that more sessions are needed.
Does the Success Profile apply equally to all my fishing spots?
No, the Success Profile is calculated separately for each fishing spot. The conditions that lead to success at one gravel pit lake can look completely different at a nearby river or lake – that's why AngelStratege evaluates every spot on its own, rather than using one general model.
What do the tips and notes in the Success Profile mean?
Tips suggest which additional data (e.g. water temperature or water level) you could log during future sessions to refine the analysis. Notes flag when the data basis for a spot is still too small for reliable conclusions.
